I too like birds…I also practice bird law. Wow, this is very Beck. The chord change is very similar to “fucking with My Head” off of the Album Mellow Gold.
Never heard of these guys, but I like it. I need to check them out, like right now.
I, too, like Beck. 🙂 That song plays it closer to the 50s or 60s track(s) that also use that riff. You can sure get some mileage from a few, well-placed chords.
Also, it’s funny – I remember you liking the Eels song used in the movie Along Came Polly
“God damn right, it’s a beautiful day”
“I Like Birds”/Eels. Charming. A tune about a happy place in the singer’s mind in a world of distractions and grumpy people. We all need ’em. The bg vox recall to me, appropriately, the Beatles instrumental “Flying.” The song recalls me, too, to Beck, but as much for the deadpan vocals as anything.
Eels- Quirky, dreamy, Beck-y (before Beck), lusciously textured. It must have been a lot of fun to put this together. Is this the first Animal Round entry by an Animal band?
He has a “close to the mic” style. It kinda grows on you. Easy laid back flow to song……AND I too, like birds a lot. Excellent Track. So much of life is indeed a turd but Birds just Rock. Deep philosophical discourse going on here.

you are correct! I love that song as well.
Eels – I Like Birds
Instant smile. Short and sweet with just enough color to keep it interesting. Perching to dream.
