“Sickman” by Alice In Chains

To be honest, I will usually skip this song because its not one of my favorites but it fit the theme.

Something about that honky-tonk upright, and his wobbly voice kept pulling me back as I was considering songs. Then the weird guitar banging in the back and the harmonies kinda sealed the deal for me.

“Metal” by The Beths

The song is about the lead singer’s dealing with Thyroid Eye Disease and the body’s complicated functions.

“Stones In My Passway” by Robert Johnson

“Someone Who’s Cool” by Odds

These guys had two fine records that contain some great car-listening material. Originally chosen for the “temporary cancer” line, but I would argue this guy has some serious issues.

This is a relatively new band that scratches [m]y 1980’s itch. There’s a little Cure in there and a sprinkling of Ocean Blue that soften things about. There are a number of bleeding references in this song.
