JM – I don’t know if it is a time change, but it seems everything is going good, then it gets a little confusing, then they come back together again. I haven’t heard a lot of her songs, but what I have heard, they all follow the same pattern cadence. like, you know its Joni Mitchell. Bongos are a nice touch.
SP-Interesting, piano is nice, starting to get anxiety now, it too repetitive. I can’t handle super repetitive stuff. Ok, now we have a electric keyboard, what the hell is going on here? Oh, I can’t handle this anymore… oh its over….
I forgot about that song, yeah, does the same thing. Driving home from lessons last night, A Foo Fighter’s song came on, I think it may be new, something about the sky. Man was it bad.
Joni Mitchell – Coyote
Oh, I know this. Starts off breezy like Bread or America, but then Joni kicks in. “…staring a hole into his scrambled eggs…” Love the ringing tones throughout and the rambling nature of the vocals with the bass – in a dance of sorts. A satisfying meal.
Sparks – Here Kitty
“Ah, Sparks.” -Radar O’Reilly
Hypnotic and fun – layered goodness. Again, I’m getting a little dance here. I could listen to this all day. -Cat Dad
“Here Kitty”/Sparks. These Sparks lads are always amusing. The vocal arrangement and harmony recalls Queen (the band). Oh, wait, there’s a tiger! I like the call and response between the keyboard and the cat. Conceptual kin to some TMBG stuff, perhaps musically as well as lyrically.
“Coyote” by Joni Mitchell: This was vaguely familiar. Sounds just like I expect Joni Mitchell to sound. She has such I very cool way of singing. Nostalgic and wonderful at the same time. Also like the way the bass plays alongside her voice.
“Here Kitty” by Sparks: Impressive harmonizing here. Became a real symphonic extravaganza….and the middling section was a good change up. Fun,,,…..here kitty kittty kitty
