“August Rain” by Murray Attaway
Submitted by Ed

The loan solo album, a very good one, from the Guadalcanal Diary frontman. I recently spun the CD and the line about somebody lying in a hospital bed spoke to this round.

“Nervous Breakdown” by Eddie Cochran
Submitted by Bill

A ’50s classic I can’t get enough of largely due to the vibrant alchemy of its beat, with those handclaps and that subterranean bass. Nice vocal, too. It makes me feel quite well, actually.

“Troubled Mind” by Dan Mangan
Submitted by Dave

This song peppers along nicely. It had an ear worm quality on me and after a few good listens I just wanted more. The backup vocals and harmonies gel beautifully.

“Woo Hoo (I Can’t Stop My Leg)” by Robert Klein
Submitted by Alan

I’m actually not a big Robert Klein fan and I’m pretty sure that only people of a certain age know him nowadays. I probably saw this as a teenager and it made an impression on me. He really kills the vocal and his harmonica is on point.

VOLUME 28.2.3

“Unwell” by Matchbox 20
Submitted by Bill B

The song is about mental health struggles.

“Already Dead” by Beck
Submitted by Ian

One of Beck’s calmer albums but just as good as the rest.
