“Goodbye Horses”/Q Lazzarus. I second EdMinistrator on the 80s modality — the whomping snare and bass, the various layered synths, both as bed and plinking accents. The mix really forefronts the vocals, which is a fine thing, as that is one sexy, husky voice, and the song really captures parting’s sweet sorrow.
Goodbye Horses- In theory, I really like this song. Sold rhythm, tasteful use of keyboards, bright 80s production. It could be an alternate track from the Pretty in Pink soundtrack. However, I can’t truly and objectively review this track without conjuring the scene to which it is attached from Silence of the Lambs. It’s the scene where Buffalo Bill (the killer) is dressing up in the mirror. I got a creepy vibe as soon as the track started. What a strong association. I’d say it’s similar to Stuck in the Middle with you from Reservoir Dogs (if you recall that one).
