  1. BB- I love this! Even without the absolutely killer violin work, the groove is simple, tasteful and super smooth. It reminds me a little of some of the b-sides from The Police in that they evoke a mood framed by the title. If I didnt know the song and had a million guesses I dont think I would guess Beastie Boys.

    1. Nice…
I could have selected all five songs from the boys or Primus for this challenge. I did choose this one because it shows that they can do more than just wrap. They have quite a few instrumentals with this being one of them. Glad you enjoyed it.

  2. Beastie Boys – Eugene’s Lament
I think I know the Beasties just as much, maybe more for their instrumentals than for their regular fare. They stretch into middle eastern-ish territory here. A bit trance inducing, but unafraid to screech a bit. Taut.

  3. “Eugene’s Lament”/Beastie Boys. yeah, definitely wouldn’t have guessed this is the Beasties. Pizzicato strings! Feels a bit like a sketch for a song, but it’s all very atmospheric. That violin is wild indeed.

  4. “Eugene’s Lament” by Beastie Boys

Love the string work at the front end of this. Its building up some pent up emotion and I can’t wait for the big drop. They are really teasing this one out in a most glorious way. Wah? it never arrived and you know what that is just fine…I am curious to listen to the song it led into though. Dig those textures.
