“Entangled” by Genesis

Ok, when I went to this round’s description I said what is the first thing that immediately pops in to my head. I thought of A Trick of the Tail. I love this album. When I did a quick scan of the album this song kept waving its hand at me to be picked. This was my choice. Great Song. To be honest, I did not deep dive to see if it really fits the requirement of the round BUT my sub-conscious told me to choose it so it must be right.

I don’t know why but I love this song. Everything is just perfect. The intro, the bridge, the chorus, I love it. I dig that Yacht Rock! what more can I say.

Fan of the band since acquiring Bandwagonesque – this one just came to mind.

“Dreaming” by Blondie
Submitted by Alan

The opening track on “Eat to the Beat” and the opening bars are the incessant and poundacious percussion of the recently-late Clem Burke. What an interesting, creative drum part; Ringoesque even. The song, like many others of Blondie’s, is grounded in city life but this one juxtaposes the concrete with thoughts, ideas and dreams.

“Whenever You’re on My Mind” by Marshall Crenshaw
Submitted by Bill

Crenshaw was really a breath of fresh air when his first stuff came out in the early ’80s, and this is one of my faves of his. That chiming, just slightly overdriven guitar, great melody, and the super-lush backing vox really make it. So purty you might not attend to the lyrics, but they’re good too!
