“Thinkin’ About Your Body” by Bobby McFerrin
Submitted by Ed

Introduced to his live album Spontaneous Inventions (1986) by MyFive contributor Alan and was lucky enough to see both of them at a Penn State show as one of the two appeared on the same bill with Stanley Jordan. McFerrin’s version of Blackbird was a highlight. This one is one of my favorites of his and was a no-brainer for this round.

“Somebody’s on My Mind” by Billie Holliday
Submitted by Bill

It’s always rewarding to hear Ms. Holliday caress a lyric, and this round was a fine excuse to slip in another track.

“I Just Don’t Think I’ll Ever Get Over You” by Colin Hay
Submitted by Dave

Big fan of the Colin Hay sound lately. This song was lovely.

“Timeless Melody” by The La’s
Submitted by Alan

“Do you know what you will find?”
The La’s elemental guitar-voice-drum combination are timeless in themselves. This tune has great frenetic lead in the middle that sounds like an amped up acoustic which has a unique character to it.

“The Unthinking Majority” by Serj Tankian
Submitted by Ian

Love his voice, just finished reading his book down with the system about the band and Armenian genocide. He also started a new project where he is performing a cover song every two weeks I think.. It just started.
