Not a specific brand, but everyone knows cornflakes. one of my favorite Tori songs

“The Last Chance Texaco” by Rickie Lee Jones
Submitted by Ed
The first one I thought of for this round. I can remember having her debut record way back in the day and just loving her voice and cool, jazzy style

“Brutal” by Mekons
Submitted by Bill
With that accordion and Sally Timms’ ethereal voice singing scathing lyrics about government complicity in the international drug trade, it’s a darkly atmospheric standout from “The Curse of the Mekons.” Brand name: McDrug.

“Sexuality” by Billy Bragg
Submitted by Alan
I hope Billy appreciates all of the MyFive love he has received on this platform. I remember hearing this song for the first time in the early 90s and being blown away by the forthrightness and boldness of the anti-homophobia anti-discrimination message of this song. It is a simple, strummy BB classic, bolstered by backing vocals by Kirsty Macoll. There are some great lines here (“Safe sex doesn’t mean no sex/it just means use your imagination.”) The brand call-out here is Mitsubishi, oddly enough. And a superfun video!

Always nice to get me a dose of REM. They always hit the spot and this song was one I have not listened to in a long time. Enjoyed this track tonight.
