“Jackie Wilson…”/Vannie Morrison. The great lead track to a great album (perhaps my fave of his after “Astral Weeks”) and a joyful tribute to the great soul singer. Have loved this one for years though I am newly appreciating the spectacular horn charts. And I still dig the intro, with those no-FX vocals and handclaps. Let it all hang out.

I’ve heard this one so many times, but never tire of it. Let’s give it a fresh listen…
The horns are so perfectly intertwined. “Boom, boom, boom punctuation. It’s about as damn near perfect as you can get.
