  1. Marshall Crenshaw – Whenever You’re On My Mind
    A favorite – artist & song.
It seems so simple, but there’s a lot going on in there – with a little dissonance. I never mind hearing this one.
“…set my watch and still lose track of time.”

  2. Marshall- Beautiful pop sensibility here. Love the fake move where you think he’s going into the chorus but continues the verse. There is also a playfulness with the rhythm of the chorus too. I’ve seen him a bunch of times and was shocked at his utter lack of stage presence. He broke a string at one show, handed his guitar to his tech and literally did not say anything until the guitar was returned.

  3. “Whenever You’re on My Mind” by Marshall Crenshaw: Pop singer/songwriter style. Carried me along nicely. Todd Rundgren comes to my mind. All the pop sensibilities (hooks and upbeat) permeate. Can something be really on your mind or is it more inside your mind? Enjoyed.
