  1. CH – I love Colin Hay, interestingly enough I am not familiar with this song.

TheLas – Unfortunately this song would not load for me.

  2. Colin- A beautiful song beautifully done. I have seen him do a number of his songs in a solo acoustic format and he does wonderful arrangements of them. This one has that ringing, open string chimyness that is gorgeous. I also love how he incorporates the explosion of strumming at the end which seems to represent the pent up emotion of the song releasing.

  3. Colin Hay – I Just Don’t Think I’ll Ever Get Over You
Naked vulnerability. He pours his all out and into this instantiation of this song. Beautiful.

    The La’s – Timeless Melody
One album wonders? Warm and wet production enhances the “swimminess” of this track. Catchy without really having a chorus. The intro is kinda Who-esque. Like a hit of an audio drug for me. Floating.

  4. “I Just Don’t Think …”/Colin Hay. Must be one of the more interesting afterlives of frontmen of ’80s hitmaking bands. His singing and songwriting were already great in Men at Work, but he really continued to mature and shows off some solid guitar chops here. Really poignant tune. Also a decent beard game. (Note: Google informs me that Hay’s life post MAW veered close to tragedy; above comments were only about his music career, not personal life.)

“Timeless Melody”/Los La’s. Great driving track. Opening reminded me of U2 for a sec (not uncommon for a band of this era). Really interesting groove between the acoustic guitar and somehow both spare and very busy drum part. The vocals sound very 60s to me. A splendid combination of elements.

  5. “Timeless Melody” by The La’s

Huge fan of There She Go’s. They have a pop indie vibe that is right in my wheel house. This song did not disappoint. Need to check out the full album at opportunity. I know very little about this band other than they had a mega hit in There She Goes that probably dwarfed any of their other songs by comparison relative to main stream popularity but not sure.
